After she's dumped by her serial killer boyfriend, a beauty-obsessed woman goes on a bloody quest to create the perfect face.
SHERYL is a modern woman with a decent job, a boyfriend, TED, that she loves, and a best friend, AMANDA, that she can confide in. Like so many people today, she spends a lot of time on social media comparing her life to those “perfect” lives she sees online. Sure, she may be completely obsessed with her appearance, but who isn’t? Also, did I mention that she’s a serial killer?
After their latest “date night” goes horribly wrong, Ted dumps SHERYL for not being “hot enough” and her world is shattered! How the actual F is this happening?
But SHERYL quickly regroups and combines her physical obsession with her murder obsession. She will, quite literally, create the perfect female face by harvesting parts from the celebrities she sees on social media. No one will ever say she’s not hot enough ever again!
SHERYL is a dark-comedy/thriller/revenge fantasy that takes careful aim at today's image-obsessed culture. It is reported that up to 97% of women will think at least one negative thought regarding their appearance today.
While SHERYL is told through a lens filled with both horror and comedy, the issues are very real: Self-love, acceptance, and societal pressure. These are issues that we all, but especially women, face every day. A movie that is filled with thrills, big laughs, and real areas for conversation and self-reflection, this film is an attempt to tell a familiar story in a new way; and to bring both awareness and entertainment to the screen.
